Graduate Affiliates
The Institute for the Humanities invites applications for Faculty and Graduate AFFILIATES. The position of Faculty Affiliate is open to all faculty members working in the humanities within the university, who would be particularly interested in conversations with other humanities scholars. (The position of Affiliate should not be confused with an Institute Fellowship, open only to WCAS tenured and tenure-track faculty.) Every year we also invite applications for Graduate Affiliates—advanced doctoral students working in the humanities in any of the schools across the entire university—who would be interested in sharing their ideas and research with Institute associates and participating in events with our visitors. Annual Institute Affiliates receive a designated research account of $1,000 (some important restrictions apply) and are expected to take an active part in all major Institute activities during the academic year of their affiliation.
Affiliates will have lunch and participate in workshops with our speakers (see below), and will be members of the new Institute colloquia, roundtables at which Affiliates will present their research in an informal workshop setting in dialogue with other humanities faculty and graduate students.
