Applying for Co-sponsorship Support
The Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities invites applications for co-sponsorship support of events planned by persons affiliated with Northwestern University. Application packets may be submitted at any time before the quarterly deadlines electronically or by campus mail. Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis by a Humanities Council subcommittee.
The application deadlines for 2009-2010 are:
Friday, September 25, 2009 for Fall Quarter 2009
Friday, January 8, 2010 for Winter Quarter 2010
Friday, April 2, 2010 for Spring Quarter 2010
Application Requirements
All applications must include:
- A Co-sponsorship Application Information Sheet.
- A brief but specific outline of the proposed event or program including an assessment of its contribution to the Humanities and Northwestern University, its dates, and, when applicable, one paragraph speaker biographies.
- A proposed budget for the event or program that includes funding sources that have been solicited and any funding commitments that have already been secured.
Applications should be e-mailed to hum@northwestern.edu or sent by campus mail to the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities, 1880 Campus Drive, #2-360, attention Co-sponsorship Review Committee.
The Humanities Institute will ordinarily contribute a maximum of 25% of any program or event's total budget. Notification will be sent to all applicants within two weeks following the quarterly deadline.
Please note:
The Kaplan Institute for the Humanities does NOT provide financial support for events sponsored by current Kaplan Institute workshops.
