LANDFILL

LANDFILL

As seen on TV …  Everything to make your days easier from Tupperware you can’t live without to gadget that will save your life.

Do they actually work? Do we actually need them? Why do we compulsively buy these products and of course, where does all that ugly plastic end up?

Landfill is an interdisciplinary event that includes an installation of some of the wilder items one can order from television paid programming or from those ubiquitous catalogs. See if you can guess what they are… Then November 21st at 3pm and 7pm come see the pitch. Inspired by the classic medicine shows, this live piece that includes, a mentalist, a magician, comedy, music and a special guest appearance, will leave you wanting to get your very own bottle of a magical elixir presented to the public for the very first time.

Conceived and directed by Valentina Fratti,
Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities Artist In Residence, hosted in part by the Department of Radio Television & Film Studies

See Valentina at work in the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities Artist in Residence space on the first floor of Kresge, room 1-410.

Seeking actors with strong comedy and improv background for a theater event taking place on campus

Landfill is about the “as seen on TV” products that are to make your days easier from Tupperware you can’t live without to gadget that will save your life.  Do we really need them? Why do we compulsively buy these products and of course, where does all that ugly plastic end up?

Landfill is an interdisciplinary event that includes an installation of some of the wilder items one can order from television paid programming or from those ubiquitous catalogs. Audiences are invited to guess what these products are. Then a live performance inspired by medicine shows and variety shows will take place and a film which will be a Paid Programming pitch for a new product will follow.

Rehearsals will be limited to evenings starting end of October.

Please contact Valentina Fratti at landfill09@gmail.com to set up an appointment.
