Kaplan Scholar undergrads on steps of University Hall in Fall 2015

The Kaplan Humanities Institute offers a wide-range of opportunities for undergraduates, both in and out of the classroom:

  • The Kaplan Humanities Scholars Program is a specialized program that begins with select first-year students and includes curriculum and engagement opportunities through the Kaplan Scholar's senior year;
  • We award an Undergraduate Project Prize;
  • We offer a minor in the Humanities;
  • We have just launched the elite Franke Undergraduate Fellowships for Northwestern seniors in the humanities;
  • Undergraduates from any major in any Northwestern school can enroll in our spring break program, The Humanities Plunge (an immersion in the culture of Chicago), and our Global Humanities Lab course, which this year travels to Vienna;
  • And our interdisciplinary curriculum is taught by award-winning teachers with one-of-a-kind topics across the humanities.
